I'm Robert Winston. Many years ago my mother, Ruth Winston-Fox had the vision of creating a travelling Jewish Way of Life exhibition. Through her initiative and drive, it was visited—and continues to be visited— by pupils, teachers and members of the general public in hundreds of sites up and down the country.
The Jewish Way of Life CD-Rom complements the physical exhibition and amplifies many of its learning opportunities, using state-of-the-art technology to present Judaism in a contemporary, vibrant and accessible way. It can be used separately or together with the exhibition. Both are designed to support you, the teacher, and enable your pupils to gain fresh insights into Judaism as a living faith and culture.
The CD-Rom and the material on this website both probably speak for themselves and the images of Jews and Judaism that we portray are of fairly mainstream practice but, of course, there’s no such thing as a typical Jew. The Jewish community both in Britain and worldwide is very diverse, with differences of belief and practice.
We hope that the CD-Rom and this website will become a valuable tool for teaching for many years to come.
