I am a PGCE Tutor in RE and would like to give each of my students a copy of the CD-ROM. Would this be possible?

I ordered a copy of the Jewish Way of Life CD-ROM but it hasn’t arrived. I was wondering when it will be dispatched?
-
Requests for CD-ROMs are usually dispatched from our warehouse every few weeks so yours should be on the way. However, if you would like to double check that your order had definitely been received, please email our Project Manager
info@jwol.org.uk with the approximate date of when your ordered was placed and if you ordered on line via our website or using a reply slip.
Does the CD-ROM require a site license? We would like to install in on our school’s network so it will be available for all computers in school?
-
The Pears Foundation created and owns the CD-ROM with the intention that the information and activities should be freely available to all schools in the UK. If you want to put in on your school’s network you have our permission to do so.
Can I install the CD-ROM onto our school’s network?
-
Yes, it is possible to install your JWoL CD-ROM onto a network and link it if you install it to a network drive (eg S:\folder\...) and use it as the path for running the software.
Can I have extra copies for my colleagues at school?
-
It's a maximum of 2 free copies per school but the CD-ROM is designed for sharing and is very easy to down-load onto your P.C. allowing you to pass the CD-ROM among your colleagues. Just follow the instructions to install the CD-ROM that come up as you load it onto your computer. A step by step guide is also on the 'installing the CD page' of this website (it literally takes about 2 minutes to do this).
We are not a school, but a college of further education, can I still order a free copy of the Jewish Way of Life CD-ROM?
-
Yes. Please just register as a FE college and give the college’s address. You are welcome to order a maximum of 2 copies but the CD is easy to download onto PCs or put on your network if you have one.
I cannot hear glossary terms when clicking the sound icon.
-
The audio glossary uses an embedded Windows media player to play the audio pronounciations. This should work without any problems in Internet Explorer but may not work in Firefox or other browsers. To get it to work in Firefox install the MediaWrap plugin.
I can't hear audio on the CD-ROM, what can I do?
-
The CD-ROM uses Macromedia Flash to play audio and video. If you cannot hear audio in any Flash application then try re-installing flash or check the audio settings in Flash. If you cannot hear specific portions of the CD-ROM then please let use know using the feedback form below.
Can my school order more than one copy?
-
Yes you can order up to 2 copies. However you may not need to as the CD-ROM is very easy to down-load onto your PC allowing you to pass the CD-ROM among your colleagues.
